From Contestant to Judge: Saara Aalto takes on a new X Factor role!

As you may recall, we first saw Saara Aalto when she performed twice in the Finnish national final for Eurovision, firstly in 2011 with the song Blessed with Love, and then last year with the song No Fear. She has also placed 2nd in the Voice of Finland, and most recently, Saara participated on the UK series of X Factor, and once again, placed 2nd. Despite not reaching the top spot in her endeavours, Saara Aalto is about to take on a new role within the X Factor series!

The Finnish star has only recently announced that she will be a part of the judging panel on the X Factor Suomi. The auditions for the show will start in September, and singers, rappers, bands and performers need to submit their applications on the official X Factor Suomi website by July 31st. Saara will be joined by 3 fellow judges who have been announced to be Michael Monroe, Suvi Teräsniska and Mikael Gabriel.

About her role, she has said ‘I’m at least a mentor who knows how to come second! […] Winning I’m not so sure, but I’ve been second five times.’ Well, she may have only come second over the years, but that hasn’t stopped her success. Not long after the X Factor UK final, she was signed to two record deals – Sony Music UK and Sony Music Finland.

We’re excited to see Saara once again on television screens, and we’re also excited to see what talent X Factor Suomi can uncover – perhaps the next Finnish Eurovision winner?
